My family recently was blessed with a vacation to Alaska. It was amazing. Like all dog owners, we were faced with an all too common problem. What do we do with our dog? We are fortunate to have a friend take care of our Theodore, but finding a good daycare is not what this article is about.

When we picked up our baby boy his Aunt and Uncle shared some stories about bunnies and golf cars. As they told us of his exploits, I stood, mouth agape, looking at my son whose nub tail was wagging. Apparently, he has issues with pulling on the leash to go after bunnies and likes to bark and act up when golf cars are in proximity.
As you may have seen on our YouTube channel, Theodore routinely walks without a leash when bunnies are present and in my neighborhood, we often also see golf cars. So what causes a perfectly well-trained dog to act up when his trainers (dad and mom) are not handling him? The answer is in the approach we take to training dogs.
Simply put, we don’t train dogs. We teach dog owners to better communicate in a natural, holistic way with their dogs. As communication is the foundation on which relationships are built, being able to express your likes and dislikes clearly is pretty darn important. So being a proud father in disbelief of how his child acted, I took Theodore right outside of his Aunt and Uncle’s home, which is on a golf course, and immediately came across a golf car. You know what happened? Nothing. Theodore did nothing except ignore the golf car. On our way, in the home, a bunny hopped out from a bush (no, I am not kidding, it was surreal) and still, nothing. The faces of the audience in the picture were priceless.

Danni is a trainer and musher. She recently bought some pups and is looking to put together her own team! So friendly and knowledgeable. Go see her today at http://alaskaexcursions.com.

Gee, I wish I had something comfy to sit on.

Here I am being taste tested by an 8-week-old puppy.
When he and I entered his Aunt and Uncle’s home I declared a common computer diagnosis; user error. We teach people how to #SpeakDogTheBarkBustersWay because dogs can act differently with their parents than with dog sitters, friends, family, neighbors and especially dog trainers.
We want you to be your dog’s dog trainer. We can teach you how to be just that and guarantee our services for the life of your dog. Make no mistake, you need to do your homework and when you do you will see your dog transform and your relationship grown and develop, but when you need a little more help, we have you covered.
